Make Your Vision a Priority This Year

Great customer service can help build a loyal patient base.

New Year’s resolutions can be daunting. From shedding pounds to waking up earlier, these things take discipline. But, some life-changes are easier to make than others.

Taking better care of your vision is a resolution to keep in the new year for two important reasons.

  • Reduce Risk of Age-Related Eye Health Issues

By taking vitamins that contain zeaxanthin (a powerful antioxidant) every day, you continually build your macular pigment. This is important because, without a dense macular pigment, you are more susceptible to the effects of age-related eye health issues. These issues can destroy central vision and cause severe vision loss in adults over age 55. While there is currently no cure for most age-related eye health issues and the effects are irreversible, the progression of these issues can be stopped by taking eye vitamins with zeaxanthin.

  • Save Money

Frost & Sullivan estimates that through 2020, an average of 4.8 million people over the age of 55 in the U.S. will experience a costly age-related eye health or cataract event. This means that eye health can get very expensive for some of us. The report estimates the expected cost of treating these issues to be over $164 billion from 2013 to 2020. However, the report also says that Americans can cumulatively save $927.9 million per year by taking a lutein and zeaxanthin eye vitamin and avoiding age-related eye health issues.

With these points in mind, go into the new year confident in your vision and remember to take your eye vitamins!
